» lost22 - Being with an older man...help!

I am really hoping someone will be able to shed some light to my situation. I am 21 and I like an older man. He is 43 (soon to be 44). It's a 22 year age difference between us. The age thing doesn't bother me at all, i feel that age is only a number and you are as young or old as you feel and act.

The problem is: How do i ask him out, or something like that. He's not married, no kids, but i think he has a girlfriend. They are not engaged either. I see him in a professional setting usually once every week or every other week. He is my masseur, so there does pose a bit of awkwardness in asking him in that setting.

My objective if i can't date him, is to just be friends with him, because i'd rather have that than nothing. We talk quite a bit, and share personal information, i just don't know how to take the next step, what to say or do or anything. Mostly, i'm scared of being rejected and him knowing how i feel.

Can anyone shed some light?
