I’m a latecomer to the whole Sex in the City craze. I started watching them a few months ago on the reruns that aired on TV. I’m told that network TV can’t compare to the originals, since they need to chop dialog and scenes to the point where the show airs for about seventeen minutes now, but I’m enjoying them nonetheless.
And now, finally, Variety says our favorite four gals are set to star in a Sex in the City movie, beginning with a fall production schedule. I think it was rather smart to start production now that the show has aired in reruns. There must be a few folks like me who got into Sex in the City late for a variety of reasons. Maybe they didn’t have HBO. Maybe they just didn’t catch the series when it first came out. Who knows? But these same folks – like yours truly – will probably now see the movie. And that ain’t such a bad thing.
I’ll confess I’m still making my way through the episodes. But I’ve read about how the series progressed and pretty much know what happens. So I’ll be able to speculate, along with the rest of you, on what kind of script they’ll recreate to bring our four heroines out of retirement.
My predictions?
