In Monday night’s
Pick Up Artist, I was surprised to see how broken up the guys were at the thought of Joe W. leaving. Granted, I liked Joe, too, but I wasn’t in competition against him. It’s interesting to these guys compete against each other, compared to say,
America’s Next Top Model contestants. The guys on
Pick Up Artist really do behave differently.
Is it a guy thing? Are women more competitive?
It seems that even though the guys are genuinely pulling for each other, they still want to win. Some of the other reality shows I’ve seen have contestants nitpicking each other or outright stabbing them in the back. The only one that seemed to engage in this type of behavior on the
Pick Up Artist was Pradeep. And he’s gone now.
My personal favorite on the show is still Joe D., who in the latest episode of the
Pick Up Artist said:
- “I came here as a guy who lived in my parent’s basement, with no door. Now that I’m here and I have the tools and the confidence to better myself, I’m not just gonna break through those walls I made, I’m gonna frickin’ shatter them, and I’m going to go forward. And there’s nothing and no one that can stop me. I’m winning this. I am going to be the Master Pick Up Artist.”
I’m rooting for the kid, and hope he finds a nice girl to be with. And moves out of his parent’s basement! (Perhaps he should do that first.)
