Former American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson is slated to star in the Sex in the City movie, along with the original cast from the hit series.
Reuters reports that Jennifer Hudson has joined the cast of "Sex and the City: The Movie," which begins filming next week in New York.
The Oscar winner and former American Idol contestant will play assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker's character, Carrie Bradshaw. The movie is based on the hit HBO comedy series.
Hudson is also working on her debut album for Arista Records. The record is expected to be released the first part of 2008.
