Rich in color and filled with imaginative scenes, Across the Universe [Columbia/Revolution Studios, 2007] is a feast for the eyes and ears.

Looking for a great date movie this weekend? I highly recommend Across the Universe. I caught a sneak peak with my honey this past weekend and it was wonderful. He was reluctant to go at first, saying, "Are they just singing Beatles' songs?" I told him I had a feeling it'd be good, and he trusted me. I can tell you this: he loved it as much as I did. I was surprised at the scenes my honey thought were great compared to the ones I did. It's very different and not at all like the more over-the-top, kinda showy, musicals. It's like a cross between a video and a musical.

This is why I recommend it for singles. The movie has so much in the way of storyline, graphical appeal, and generational history that you two will be chatting for hours about it afterward. And isn't that always the best kind of film to see on a date?
