Why does Scott Baio date so many girls who look exactly the same? And do we really need to see him get ready for fatherhood?
Okay, I know I said I was done talking about the whole Scott Baio Is 45 thing, but here’s another odd thing I keep thinking about the finale.
Scott plans a “graduation party” to celebrate his eight week renewal, right? And he invites all these ex’s who made appearances throughout the show. First we see Nicole Eggert, then Susie, and then Julie. You remember Julie? The one that was on Growing Pains?
Julie hugs Renee and stands by awkwardly as Renee and Scott hug. Hello Julie? This would be the time to leave them alone for a moment. Apparently she wants to talk to Renee, because we then see Julie pulling Renee by the hand.
As both Renee and Julie sit there, I’m struck by the similarities in these two women: both with Southern accents, badly cut bangs and extremely blond dyed hair. This image is yet another reason why we are so fascinated with Scott Baio – because he didn’t just date a lot of famous women, he dated a lot of women who seemed to be cookie cutter images of each other. Does this signify something? Did Doc Ali even go there during this eight-week life-coaching project?
If she didn’t, she’ll probably get another chance because Scott Baio Is 45 and Single has been renewed for another season. This time we’ll follow Baio around as he learns how to get a handle on fatherhood. Are we setting our TiVo's for this one?
