St Valentine's Day is for lovers but some will be spending the day in lonely isolation. Here are a some suggestions for single people to enjoy St. Valentine's Day.
St Valentine’s Day is a day for lovers, a day for loving, a day to spend with partners and lovers – oh irredeemable and hopeless romantics. What about those who do not have partners or lovers to share this most romantic of days what lies in store for these poor souls?
Here are ten suggestions on how to spend this sometimes bitter-sweet day alone.
- Organise an outing with single friends, something as simple and special as a dinner, and who knows you could meet that Mr. or Ms. Right.
- Go on a self-pampering shopping spree; after all it’s not as if the world is devoid of shopping opportunities.
- Determined to be lonesome on the day, so rent a romantic movie to watch while munching on a box of luxury chocolates and sipping a glass or two of Champaign.
- Internet chat sites are ubiquitous, so use one and hook up for a cyber-Valentine experience. After all anyone on a chat line on this day is bound to be alone and searching for kindred spirits.
- Why not start an exercise regime, get that body fit, ripped and toned? Swimming, running or just a walk in the park are good exercises and fate may take a hand in meeting that special one on the same mission. Another benefit of exercise is that it clears the mind and makes the day seem not so bad.
- Go for a special meal in an exclusive and expensive restaurant? But don’t overdo those calories and watch the kilos.
- There are few things better than snuggling up in bed with a good book and a glass of good wine. Eroticism is OK, one of the romantic poets is more uplifting. What about a biography of the martyr himself?
- If all else fails, some people like karaoke and rendering a classic love song like Stardust to a room full of strangers may be just the love potion that is needed.
- Alternatively, just ignore the day sleep until it is over.
- For singletons, keeping occupied on St Valentine’s Day may not be so bad after all, but of course one way to get the special someone is to shake off the blues, rid yourself of the woes and get out there to wow that special gal or guy across the bar.
Plenty to do on Valentine's Day
Even spending this romantic day alone may be daunting at first there are many things to do and enjoy but remember hooking up with that someone may well present a different set of problems. But that as they say is another story
