Treat the man of your life to something extra special and unforgettable this Valentine's Day.

Valentine’s Day is not just for the girls but for the guys as well. Tired of the usual offerings in the form of ties, shirts and leather wallets? Check out some fresh ideas to make this year’s Valentine’s Day ultra special.

The Action Man

If your man loves the thrill of the adrenalin rush, there are heaps of wild, exciting activities to choose from. These days, many websites sell vouchers that let customers to choose their own unique gifts and thrilling experiences. Buy vouchers to let your partner enjoy a flight simulation experience like a pilot, drive a real Ferrari, take part in a V8 driving race, go skydiving, bungee jump or swim with sharks. These are all experiences a thrill seeker will not forget.

The Regular Bloke

The regular bloke is into sports, TV, movies, music, beer and DIY stuff. Surprise him with a snooker table (if there is enough space at his place), sign up a sports tour package for him, upgrade his cable TV subscription, get special editions of his beloved Rambo or Bourne movies, make a CD of his favorite Nirvana or Cold Play songs or buy an ultra special DIY tool kit to amuse the handyman in him.

The Metrosexual Guy

The modern new man will enjoy being pampered just like his girl. So a trip to the spa for a refreshing and rejuvenating facial and massage, a manicure and pedicure, some top of the range skin care and hair care products or a stylish Italian suit will just be the thing for him. And the best part is, you can do and enjoy these experiences as a couple.

The Tech Junkie

If your guy is a tech junkie, he probably has most of the latest tech gadgets already. But if he’s got a tight budget, perhaps you can invest in a new Apple laptop, a cool Blu-ray player, an ultra-sleek OLED TV, a 3D webcam, a touchscreen iPhone or a high-end GPS navigator for him. A word of caution, though. These tech gadgets often cost a bomb. Consider any of these only if you have a very healthy bank balance.

The Family Man

Obviously, the focus here will be for the family. Get all the kids to jointly create a gift for Dad on Valentine’s Day. Pictures and paintings are great gifts that children can make. A family picnic, a short weekend trip, a family photography session or just some quiet time for the two of you after the kids have gone to bed may work very well too.

While it’s great to be able to present your loved one with an awesome gift, it’s even more important to share your love and devotion for each other everyday of the year. After all, true love is not about buying lavish and unusual gifts. True love is about accepting each other unconditionally and being aware of each other’s needs.
