Need help writing a love letter? Here's a heap of it: powerful, romantic love words that express deep, passionate emotions and convey the writer's feelings.

Words expressing love come in numerous combinations, use evocative imagery and convey emotion that is fluid rather than fixed. Each word works hard.

Love Word Combinations

Here are some love phrases that are a noun with descriptive adjective. In parentheses are words that can be substituted for the noun (love) and its modifier (abiding). Examples: Everlasting joy, abounding passion, awesome elegance, angelic smile, amorous embrace.

  • Abiding (everlasting, abounding, eternal, compassionate, ) love (devotion, happiness, joy, passion, pleasures, delight)
  • Exciting (angelic, awesome, expressive, animated, artistic, admirable) smile (grace, mannerisms, outlook, elegance, attitude)
  • Playful (amorous, affectionate, adorable) responses (repartee, behavior, embrace)

Evocative Words

Evocative words conjure up a vision or tap into a feeling. They don't have to relate to sex. Here are ones that don't, or are borderline:

  • That bashful modesty and heart-warming tenderness project a majestic dignity.
  • Your captivating speech, gifted intelligence and keen insight add to your exhilarating charm.
  • Lovable virtues and unselfish loyalty give you a reassuring serenity and penetrating warmth.
  • What a wonderful surprise: healthy vitality, a sparkling personality and gleeful spirit all in one package!

Raging Hormones

People who have just fallen in love often have raging hormones and want to express that on paper. There are two important considerations here. First, do not be vulgar. For many people vulgarity and true love do not go hand in hand. Second, remember that a woman in a sensuous dress can often be more suggestive than one who is nude. More is left to the imagination! Try sentences like these:

  • We need to talk before this emotional warmth and these erotic embraces express themselves in raging passion.
  • I am way past your bewitching smile, tempting lips and alluring physique. I am sensing come-on eyes, moist, voluptuous lips, a hungry mouth and a responsive body. Is it oops time?
  • Warn me when it's time for playful fingers, exciting breasts and erotic responses.

Ending the Love Letter

The end of the love letter is not the time to slow down. It is, in fact, time to rev things up. Here are some ways to sign off:

  • Your captured heart
  • Lost in love
  • Awake but dreaming of you
  • Yearning for the next kiss
  • Alive again
  • Completely undone
  • You are so precious to me
  • Over the moon for you

Final Tips

No matter what the stage of love, confidence building is a must. Trust levels are built in steps and the sooner started the better. Here are some final tips:

  • Mention fun things done together and what feelings they aroused
  • Be sincere and don't use words that are uncomfortable or uncharacteristic
  • Arrange talk time to discuss such serious things as possessiveness, loyalty, devotion and other character traits
  • Think up things to do that draw people together, such as looking at each other's childhood pictures
  • Be imaginative, add words to the list and have enough ammunition to write more love letters. They help fuel a romance
  • When the time is right, make a trail of rose petals from the front door to the bed

The ingredients of good love letters are combinations of penetrating words, reference to shared experiences, a poetic mode of expression and the ability to sound absolutely sincere. Use these tips for writing effective love letters.
