There's no reason both partners can't enjoy the sport of football together. All you need the right type of Sunday activity.

There is often a divide when it comes to football and dating. Men tend to enjoy spending lots of time watching or attending games, while their female partners get left behind. Here are some football-related date ideas bound to satisfy any couple.

Going to a Pro Game

Attending a professional football game is a date that can last several hours. This can be a positive thing or a risky proposition depending on how well the partners know each other and how serious the relationship is. Daters who are on their first or second date probably should wait to see a game until they’ve gone out a few times and know each other a little better.

Pro football games work well if both individuals are fans or at least enjoy watching the game together. A date can include tailgating beforehand or just attending the game and going to a bar afterward. If both parties are into it, Sundays can be the highlight of their week.

Attending a High School Football Game

When the weather gets a bit cooler, attending a high school game is a great date for any couple. If two people have been out a few times, going to a game of an alma mater can be a unique way to spend a Friday night.

Even for people not entirely into the sport, attending a live football game is exciting. It's worth the time to see it live. If the weather gets a bit too chilly, or one of the partners is bored, it's easy enough to get up in the middle and leave. Since most games are either free or cost a nominal amount to enter, it makes it that much more reasonable to leave early.

Flag Football Game

Rather than sitting on the sidelines, couples can get their blood moving with a little flag football. Get a few friends together and run around for a few hours. It's not only great exercise, but it also makes for a fun date that's a bit out of the ordinary. There's something about working up a sweat together that can encourage a couple to get a bit closer.

Playing Computer Football

Sedentary couples can still enjoy the game of football. All they need is a computer and/or video game box. Couples can bond just as easily by strategizing as they can by running around. Gals can show off their game knowledge and impress their guy. Since many guys love spending time on video games, this is a good way to find some common ground.

Tossing a Football Around Outside

If there's no time or energy for a full fledged game outside, don't forget about tossing a football around outside. This casual way of getting some fresh air will still inspire the couple to have fun and enjoy each other's company.

While it doesn't qualify as a difficult workout, it does get a little movement in the joints. This in and of itself can help a couple to relax and get to know one another. It's the perfect activity for people who have been dating for a long time, or for a first date.

These are just a few of the ideas that have helped many couples bond during football season. While some women feel like their men turned their attentions toward the television screen this time of year, many others look forward to sharing their love of the game. Regardless of one's interest level, the game of football is a great way to spend a few hours together.
