Being Single on Valentine's DayTime with Friends, Pampering, and Setting Relationship Goals
All alone this Valentine's Day? Don't fret. It's a wonderful time to celebrate your single status and also to take stock in your relationship goals.
If you're feeling down during Valentine's Day, take teed. There are plenty of ways to ensure you remain happy and strong. Here are some suggestions on how to make the most out of February 14th. Let Single Friends Know You CareFebruary 14th isn't just a day to celebrate romance, it's a day to appreciate love in all its forms. That includes friendship. Pals are an important part of a single's life, so let yours know you care by writing each one a heartfelt note. Let your friends know you care about them and are happy to have them in your life. Waiting for the Right OneOne of the worst things a single guy or gal can do on Valentine's Day is wallow in the self-pity because he or she isn't in a relationship. The truth is, if you aren't with someone today it's because you aren't going to settle for someone who isn't the right one for you. So many people are desperate to be in a relationship because they don't want to be alone. That certainly isn't you! Take Stock in Your Dating GoalsOne reason singles get frustrated with dating is because they aren't ready to admit they want a relationship. It's okay to do that. Rather than waiting for it to happen, take measures toward getting the life you want. If finding someone special is on your agenda, brainstorm ways you could possibly meet new people. Then, work on small steps toward achieving that goal. Be Good to YourselfOne benefit to being single is that you don't have to answer to anyone. Revel in that fact this February 14th! Do all the things you love this Valentine's Day. Eat popcorn for dinner, watch loads of TV, read magazines all night, or spend a week's paycheck on a new pair of shoes. However you feel like treating yourself, do it without guilt. Have a Singles Get TogetherIf you know of a couple other single people who feel like celebrating, gather them together for a Valentine's Day bash. Go out on the town for a great dinner and night at the club. Or have a house party with tons of great music, spirits, and food. Perhaps you all just need a good DVD, some pizza, and wine. Friends make any occasional that much better. Regardless of how you spend the day, take a moment to celebrate your own personal strength. You've made the choice to remain single because you aren't about to let someone in who isn't right for you. That's a positive thing. Delight in the fact that you are single at the very best time in history.
