Many towns have a community fair or picnic on July 4th. Some have games and food, while others offer old-fashioned events like bingo or ring toss. Take your date to one of these charming events and you will be sure to have a great time.
See a Local Parade
If a daytime outing is what you crave, a parade at your local town hall will be sure to satisfy. View the charming floats and displays while you and your date grab an ice cream. The nostalgic feel will surely spark conversation about your upbringing. A great way to get to know each other.

Perhaps the best the thing to do on the fourth is to view a fireworks display in your town. Nearly every town in America has some type of fireworks celebration. Check with your local paper or chamber of commerce to find out where an event is held in your area. Most fireworks start several hours after dark.
Bring a blanket and some sparkling cider, and cuddle up as you watch the lights. There's something about being out at night with other people enjoying the freedoms of the United States that makes for a very special night.
